Adi Kumbeswarar Temple, Kumbakonam is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located in the town of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District Tamil Nadu, India. Shiva is worshiped as Adi Kumbeswarar, and is represented by the lingam.
ആദി കുംഭേശ്വരർ ക്ഷേത്രം, കുംഭകോണം, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ തഞ്ചാവൂർ ജില്ലയിൽ കുംഭകോണം പട്ടണത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ശിവ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ഒരു ഹിന്ദു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. ശിവനെ ആദി കുംഭേശ്വരർ ആയി ആരാധിക്കുന്നു, ലിംഗം പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു.
The temple of Adi Kumbeswarar is also considered as the 26th Paadal Petra Sthalam during Chola Period. Devotees from all over the world take bath in the Potramarai tank during Mahamaham festival which is celebrated once in every 12 years (It is called as Kumbh Mela in North).
ചോള കാലത്തെ 26-ാമത് പാദൽപേത്ര സ്ഥലമായും ആദികുംബേശ്വര ക്ഷേത്രം കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 12 വർഷത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന മഹാമഹം ഉത്സവത്തിൽ ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ഭക്തർ പൊത്രമാരൈ ടാങ്കിൽ കുളിക്കുന്നു (ഇതിനെ വടക്ക് കുംഭമേള എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു)
The divine Shiva Lingam is narrow at the top like a needle and broad at the bottom. On the left side of Kumbeswarar, his consort Goddess Mangalambika showers her divine blessings to the devotees.
ദിവ്യമായ ശിവലിംഗം സൂചി പോലെ മുകളിൽ ഇടുങ്ങിയതും അടിഭാഗം വിശാലവുമാണ്. കുംഭേശ്വരന്റെ ഇടതുവശത്ത്, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പത്നിയായ മംഗളാംബിക ദേവി തന്റെ ദിവ്യാനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഭക്തർക്ക് ചൊരിയുന്നു.
Apart from the main shrines, shrines of Lord Murugan, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kiratamurati and others adorn the temple premises.
പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിലുകൾക്ക് പുറമെ മുരുകൻ, ഗണപതി, കിരാതമൂർത്തി തുടങ്ങിയ ദേവാലയങ്ങളും ക്ഷേത്രപരിസരത്തെ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നു.

Evening Darshan: 4:00pm to 9:30pm
