Thrikkakara Vamanamoorthy Temple is one of the major Hindu temples in India dedicated to Vamana, a form of the god Vishnu. It is situated in Thrikkakara, Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. The temple is around two millennia old and is also listed as one of the 108 Divya Desams.
തൃക്കാക്കര വാമനമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം വിഷ്ണുവിൻ്റെ ഒരു രൂപമായ വാമനന് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പ്രധാന ഹിന്ദു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കേരളത്തിലെ കൊച്ചിയിലെ തൃക്കാക്കരയിലാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഏകദേശം രണ്ട് സഹസ്രാബ്ദങ്ങൾ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം 108 ദിവ്യദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായി പട്ടികപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
The main temple festival is during the Onam season, which falls on the month of August or September. After East India Company and Marthandavarma annexed the territory from Kingdom of Kochi, the Onam festival was jointly organized by the 61 Naduvazhis under the leadership of the Maharaja of Travancore, till India regained independence.
ഓഗസ്റ്റ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സെപ്തംബർ മാസങ്ങളിൽ വരുന്ന ഓണക്കാലത്താണ് പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവം. ഈസ്റ്റ് ഇന്ത്യാ കമ്പനിയും മാർത്താണ്ഡവർമ്മയും ചേർന്ന് കൊച്ചി രാജ്യത്തുനിന്ന് പ്രദേശം പിടിച്ചെടുത്തതിനുശേഷം, ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്ക് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലഭിക്കുന്നതുവരെ തിരുവിതാംകൂർ മഹാരാജാവിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ 61 നാടുവാഴികൾ സംയുക്തമായി ഓണാഘോഷം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു.
Apart from Onam, the temple also observes important festivals in the Hindu calendar such as Vishu, Makara Sankranti, Navarathri and Saraswati Puja.
ഓണം കൂടാതെ, വിഷു, മകര സംക്രാന്തി, നവരാത്രി, സരസ്വതി പൂജ തുടങ്ങിയ ഹിന്ദു കലണ്ടറിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങളും ക്ഷേത്രം ആചരിക്കുന്നു.
