Manakkattu Devi Temple is a temple in Kerala. The temple is located at Pallippad in Karthikappalli taluk of Alappuzha district in the south Indian state Kerala. It is situated about 4 km east of Harippad on Nangiarkulangara Mavelikkara road.
കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് മണക്കാട്ട് ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം. ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ കേരളത്തിൽ ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ കാർത്തികപ്പള്ളി താലൂക്കിലെ പള്ളിപ്പാടിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. നങ്ങ്യാർകുളങ്ങര മാവേലിക്കര റോഡിൽ ഹരിപ്പാട് നിന്ന് 4 കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കായാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
Long before at the time before at Dwapara yuga, these areas were included in Khandava forest. Arjuna sent his arrow as per the advice of Bhagavan Sree Krishna from eythooru (എയ്ത്തൂര്) later known as Evoor, where is famous Sree krishna swami temple is situated. After Khandavadahana the temples in this area got fire.
വളരെ മുമ്പ് ദ്വാപരയുഗത്തിൽ ഈ പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ ഖാണ്ഡവ വനത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു. പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏവൂർ എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഏത്തൂരിൽ നിന്ന് (എയ്ത്തൂർ) ഭഗവാൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്റെ ഉപദേശപ്രകാരം അർജുനൻ തന്റെ അസ്ത്രം അയച്ചു. ഖാണ്ഡവദഹനത്തിനുശേഷം ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ അഗ്നിക്കിരയായി
after decades a farmer lady on the way to punja kandam tries to sharpen her bow shaped knife in the stone. Suddenly blood came from the stone. The frightened lady went to the prominent Brahin Family Kochoor Madam and informed the incident. The highest priest came down and find Sree Bhuvaneswary idol there. He made the idol was consecrated priestly near to the old shasta temple which was consecrated by Parasu Rama
ഇതിനടുത്തുള്ള നെൽപ്പാടത്ത് കൊയ്ത്തിനു വന്ന സ്ത്രീ അവിടെ കണ്ട ഒരു ശിലയിൽ തന്റെ അരിവാൾ തേച്ചു. പെട്ടെന്ന് കല്ലിൽ നിന്ന് രക്തം വന്നു. ഭയന്ന സ്ത്രീ ബ്രാഹ്മണ കുടുംബത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖരായ കൊച്ചൂർ മാടത്തിന്റെ അടുത്ത് ചെന്ന് സംഭവം അറിയിച്ചു. പരമോന്നത പുരോഹിതൻ ഇറങ്ങി വന്നു അവിടെ ശ്രീ ഭുവനേശ്വരി വിഗ്രഹം കണ്ടെത്തി. പരശുരാമൻ പ്രതിഷ്‌ഠിച്ച പഴയ ശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‌ സമീപം അദ്ദേഹം വിഗ്രഹം പ്രതിഷ്‌ഠിച്ചു.
ശ്രീപൊന്നു മണക്കാട്ടമ്മയുടെ വിഗ്രഹം ലഭിച്ച പ്രദേശം വലിയ മണക്കാട്ടുകാവ് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. മണക്കാട്ടമ്മ ശ്രീഭുവനേശ്വരിയുടെ രൂപത്തിലാണ്.
