Chakkulathu Kavu is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Durga. Situated near Thiruvalla in Neerattupuram, Thalavady Panchayat, Alappuzha District, Kerala, India, it is one of the most renowned temples in the state.
ദുർഗ്ഗാദേവിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ഹിന്ദു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ചക്കുളത്തു കാവ്. കേരളത്തിലെ ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ തലവടി പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ നീരാട്ടുപുറത്ത് തിരുവല്ലയ്ക്ക് സമീപം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇത് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്.
Located on the banks of the holy Pampa River, the temple has become a popular pilgrim center, attracting visitors from all over Kerala. It is located just 9 km from Thiruvalla Railway Station, KSRTC, and Thiruvalla City Centre. KSRTC buses ply every 7 minutes from Thiruvalla to Alappuzha via Chakkulathukavu.
പവിത്രമായ പമ്പാ നദിയുടെ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം കേരളത്തിലെമ്പാടുമുള്ള സന്ദർശകരെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പ്രശസ്തമായ തീർത്ഥാടന കേന്ദ്രമായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു. തിരുവല്ല റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷൻ, കെഎസ്ആർടിസി, തിരുവല്ല സിറ്റി സെന്റർ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് 9 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. തിരുവല്ലയിൽ നിന്ന് ചക്കുളത്തുകാവ് വഴി ആലപ്പുഴയിലേക്ക് 7 മിനിറ്റ് ഇടവിട്ട് കെഎസ്ആർടിസി ബസുകൾ സർവീസ് നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.
The major festival at the temple is Pongala, which takes place during the month of Vrischikam (November/December).
വൃശ്ചികമാസത്തിൽ (നവംബർ/ഡിസംബർ) നടക്കുന്ന പൊങ്കാലയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം.
