Lokanarkavu Temple is a Hindu temple situated in a part of Memunda area in Villiappally village, Vadakara Taluk, Kozhikode District, Kerala, India. Lokanarkavu is a short form of Lokamalayarkavu which means lokam (world) made of mala (mountain), aaru (river) and kavu (grove). The closest railway station is at Vatakara, which is 5 km from temple. The nearest airport is Kannur airport which is 54 km away.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കേരളത്തിലെ കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ വടകരയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഹിന്ദു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ് ക്ഷേത്രം. ലോകമലയാർകാവ് എന്നതിന്റെ ചുരുക്കരൂപമാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ്, അതായത് മാല (മല), ആറ് (നദി), കാവ് (തോട്) എന്നിവകൊണ്ട് നിർമ്മിച്ച ലോകം (ലോകം). ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 5 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള വടകരയാണ് ഏറ്റവും അടുത്തുള്ള റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷൻ. 54 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള കണ്ണൂർ വിമാനത്താവളമാണ് ഏറ്റവും അടുത്തുള്ള വിമാനത്താവളം.
Pooram is the important festival here. The week-long festival begins with Kodiyettam (flag hoisting) and concludes with Arattu. The temple dedicated to goddess Durga has great historical importance as Thacholi Othenan, the legendary martial hero of Kerala, used to worship here every day.
പൂരം ആണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന ആഘോഷം. ഒരാഴ്ച നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവം കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ (കൊടിയേറ്റം) ആരംഭിച്ച് ആറാട്ടോടെ സമാപിക്കും. കേരളത്തിലെ ഇതിഹാസ ആയോധന വീരനായ തച്ചോളി ഒതേനൻ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും ഇവിടെ ആരാധിച്ചിരുന്നതിനാൽ ദുർഗ്ഗാ ദേവിക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ചരിത്രപരമായ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്.
Three Main Deities in Lokanarkavu Temple Vatakara
Bhagavathi:
The Bhagawathi or Lokambika as is universally known is one of the four Ambikas and this temple has 1300 to 1500 years old. At Lokanarkavu, Bhagavathi is worshipped in three different forms, in the morning as Saraswathi, at noon as Lakshmi Devi, and in the evening as Bhadrakali.
ഭഗവതി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ലോകാംബിക സാർവത്രികമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത് നാല് അംബികമാരിൽ ഒന്നാണ്, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് 1300 മുതൽ 1500 വർഷം വരെ പഴക്കമുണ്ട്. ലോകനാർകാവിൽ ഭഗവതിയെ രാവിലെ സരസ്വതിയായും ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ലക്ഷ്മീദേവിയായും വൈകുന്നേരം ഭദ്രകാളിയായും മൂന്ന് ഭാവങ്ങളിലാണ് ആരാധിക്കുന്നത്.
Siva:
The establishment of Siva temple around 300 - 400 years ago, with the concurrence of the Nagariks and Kadathanad Raja, in between the space available between Vishnu and Bhagavathy temple.
ഏകദേശം 300 - 400 വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് നാഗരികന്മാരുടെയും കടത്തനാട് രാജയുടെയും സമ്മതത്തോടെ വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനും ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനുമിടയിൽ ലഭ്യമായ സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.
