Sree Chakrapani Maha Vishnu Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, located at Thrikaripur in Kasaragod district of Kerala, India. According to myths, the temple was built by Parashurama.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കേരളത്തിലെ കാസർഗോഡ് ജില്ലയിലെ തൃക്കരിപ്പൂരിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന വിഷ്ണുവിന് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഹിന്ദു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീ ചക്രപാണി മഹാ വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം. പുരാണങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച്, പരശുരാമനാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചത്.
It is also one of the temples in Kerala with historical significance. Although the exact age of the temple is not known, Tamil inscriptions here state that the temple was rebuilt in the Malayalam year 410 (1235 CE).
ചരിത്ര പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള കേരളത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണിത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻ്റെ കൃത്യമായ പഴക്കം അറിയില്ലെങ്കിലും, മലയാള വർഷം 410-ൽ (ക്രി.വ. 1235) ക്ഷേത്രം പുനർനിർമ്മിച്ചതായി ഇവിടെയുള്ള തമിഴ് ലിഖിതങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.
The temple is dedicated to Vishnu. Chakra Pani meaning, The one who holds chakra in his hand, is another name of Vishnu. It is believed that the four-armed Vishnu idol was consecrated here by Parashurama. Lord Ganapati, Vanashastha and Durga are the sub deities here.
വിഷ്ണുവിനാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം. ചക്രപാണി എന്നർത്ഥം, കൈയിൽ ചക്രം പിടിച്ചവൻ, വിഷ്ണുവിൻ്റെ മറ്റൊരു പേരാണ്. നാലു കൈകളുള്ള വിഷ്ണുവിഗ്രഹം ഇവിടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചത് പരശുരാമനാണെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ഗണപതി, വനശാസ്താവ്, ദുർഗ്ഗ എന്നിവരാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ ഉപദേവതകൾ.
The seven-day annual festival at Sri Chakrapani Temple is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Makaram (Mid-March – Mid-April). The festival starts on the day in which Chathayam nakshathra come in the month of Makaram and ends on Rohini nakshathra day in Makaram.
ശ്രീ ചക്രപാണി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം മലയാള മാസമായ മകരത്തിലാണ് (മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ മദ്ധ്യം) ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. മകരമാസത്തിൽ ചതയം നക്ഷത്രം വരുന്ന ദിവസം ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവം മകരത്തിലെ രോഹിണി നക്ഷത്ര നാളിൽ അവസാനിക്കും
